2006 Costa Azul
:: Grenache ::
Valle de Guadelupe

Aged 16 months in French  and American oak barrels.

*Silver Medal* Orange County fair

150 Cases Produced

This wine was a combined effort by Chris Van Alyea (Christopher Cameron Vineyards and Ryan Baker (winemaker at Witch Creek Winery)  They both have 3-4 years experience working with different varietals from this (undisclosed) vineyard and every vintage they simply love this fruit.

This wine has deceiving depth with layers of strawberry and raspberry jam on the pallet with some toasty French and American oak nuances. This Grenache is dry but has a unique perceived sweetness that would allow it to pair well with spicier dishes.  For those unfamiliar with Grenache, this particular wine is like a Pinot on steroids.

Retail Price: $23.00

:: Petite Sirah ::
Van Alyea Ranch
Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County

Aged 24 months in new French, Eastern European, and American oak barrels.

*Silver Medal* Orange County fair

150 Cases Produced

The grapes from this wine come from the Van Alyea Ranch which is located literally on Dry Creek in Sonoma county. This Petite Sirah was aged for 24 months in French Oak barrels and as a result has great depth on the palate and well integrated tannins.  Over all the wine is quite balanced for a Petite as the alcohol is scaled down a bit compared to many of the other Petites on the market.  There are aromas and flavors of dark fruit, leather, and spice.

Retail Price: $24.00
